cell phone question

i currently have a plan with rogers (vbox)

and my mom has one with telus (samsung flip phone)

is there any way we could switch phones and keep the plans?


and if not then what can I do to get a new phone on my plan.... can i go out and just buy the phone.... and does it have to be one of "rogers" line of phones

i don't think you can just switch phones like... (but i could be wrong?)

you could buy a new phone.. (which could cost about $400 +) and use that. but you'd have to talk to rogers first to make sure it works on their network.

i'd say your best bet is to find someone with a rogers phone who's selling, and buy theres. then you can hook that up to your plan and use that instead of the vbox.

You can't switch phones as Rogers is a TDMA network and Telus uses CDMA. The phones are incompatible.

You can go buy a phone and have Rogers hook it up but it costs more at the phone is no longer subsidized by the phone company unless it is used.

so my best bet would be to find someone selling an 8390 or sumn and it could be easily switched over becuase you could switch sim cards yes/no

That's right.

As long as the phone is compatible on the Rogers network then all you have to do is swap out the SIM card and you are up.

sorry i have to use this thread to show my managers new phone.. i think im gonna switch to it..but i HATE contracts. its soo nice and its fancy dancy enuff for me... all the sounds it make are AMAZING. im not a big fan of teeny tiny phones, but for some weird reason i luv this! not too pricey either! sorry if this is "old news" im not down with the fancy dancy cell phone stuff.
