to work or not work
do you go to work when you are sick??
the thing i donut understand is, you get slack for missing work when you are sick and you get slack when you show up for work and you are sick.

I asked my HR lady this question a while ago and her reply was that it is better that I stay home and recover than to come into work and get more employees sick.

i hate it when people come into work when they're sick and they say "i can't afford to take a day off"
like don't they have any consideration for everyone else that can't afford to take a day off (which they'll have to once the cold gets passed around)? even better... when people say "i'm saving my sick days for when i'm feeling good enough to enjoy a day off"... my boss got me sick about a year ago cuz he "had to come in today"... i ended up missing 4 days of work, and he got mad at me for missing so much work... like wtf...

At my last job i would come in when i was sick. It was not very fun at all. There was even a few times i remember throwing my apron and telling the person next to me i'mma puke and then running to the bathroom.
it sucked. i'm glad i'm out of there. although, i was never really really sick when i was there (cold wise) but i did catch a few colds from others. gah! my other job after that, (well, it was technically work experience) i couldn't take a day off because i needed the hours. i wasn't even getting paid.. :soak: but i still had to work even when i had a bad cold because if i didn't, i'd fail my class which would in turn mean i would have a harder time graduating. so i just put up with it.
