I'd stake my life on it: they are not getting past the Devils.
I know. That's why IF they do manage to make it past the Devils in some way, they'll likely be this year's Cinderella Team. Hell, it means the league's top scoring line figured out the best goalie in the east, so what chance to the rest have, eh?

And never underestimate the chances of some no-name goalie suddenly going on a hot-streak at just the right time. ;)

The last time I watched the Canucks in the playoffs, it was Game 7 of the series against Calgary, which we lost in Overtime. That was at the end of the 2003-2004 season. If I had to guess I'd say that was on something like April 21st of 04.

There was no season in 04/05.

The Canucks didn't make the post season in 05/06.

It's been three fucking years.

Your goddamn right it's been a long time.

You're right it has been a while... when you lay it out like that. I remember that game that the canucks lost to Calgary, I saw them make the shot with 6 seconds, booked it over to my friends house and then we watched them meet their doom

1.2 seconds left, I think it was. I was at the Cambie. It went from despair to euphoria in a flash, then from euphoria to nerves and then utter disappointment about 20 minutes later.

I've always said you shouldn't be a Canucks fan if you can't take losing in stride. besides the immediate disappointment you need to remember you can still keep getting drunk and have a rowdy good time.

Tampa can beat New Jersey if St Louis, Lecavalier,Richards and Boyl play at their best.

Brodeur would have to be at his best to beat them. Last time though Jersey embarassed the lightning.

I can't see tampa winning the cup though but i can see them beat jersey in 7

My Picks ---

EAST -

Buf vs NYI - NYI in 7 (even though id like to see buffalo go the distance...Islanders will be this years Oilers mark my words)

NJ vs TB - NJ in 6 (TB = way too inconsistent all season , Devils are rollin as of late.. Gionta back.. Broduer 12 shutouts .. expect more here)

NYR vs ATL - ATL in 7 (NYR another inconsistent team.. atl has scoring power, Hossa , KovaLchuk , KozLov need to outplay Jagr line)

OTT vs PIT - OTT in 6 (Both teams lack playoff goaltending... expect ****loads of scoring .. Heatley needs to have Conn Smyth type playoff if OTT wants to go anywhere)

WEST -

Det vs Cal - Cal in 7 - (Detroit is the most proven playoff team there is - but if either Datsyuk or Zetterberg can be shutdown , theyre ****ed. Hasek is good but has to be getting tired. Cal has the depth now , but will need to step it up into playoff mode .. Iggy, Tanguay, Huselius, langkow all had banner years ...Kipper has what it takes to steal games ..Heres where it happens)

Anaheim vs Min - Min in 7 (Wild are a scary team . Backstrom could be this years Roloson. Anaheim is stacked on D. this should be one of best series to watch )

Van vs Dal -Van in 5 (Ive first hand witnessed Turco **** himself 4-5 yrs straight after coming off Vezina type reg season numbers.expect the same here. Van is way too hot to slow down here)

SJ vs Nas- Nas in 6 (Thornton is sick, but the depth w/ SJ is lacking - has been all season .Key is simple .. keep SJ off the PP and u win. Forsberg & Kariya alone can win this series for NAS .keep in mind Sullivan hasnt returned either)

Those are my pics .. ****ty for me I wont even be able to watch the 1st round ... im gettin hilites next day ....

As for my finals prediction ... as much as i hate the Canucks...

Stanley Cup Final this year = NYI vs VAN

takin it back to 82 .

ps - GO AVS GO (next yr)

Hey Stimmy... is it too late to say I told you so?

You get extra points for staying with your team through the long haul but in the end all I really have to say is :

FUCK THE AVS OK!?

Canucks in 6...if it weren't for Marty Turco in net for Dallas, I would have said canucks take it in 5.

Islanders aren't getting past Buffalo. No way. Too much talent, and from last year they have alot of experience in the playoff's as well. Except they are even better th is year.

Calgary isnt' going to beat Detroit either. Detroit is going to win the next won and take a 3-1 series lead.

Alot of us could be spot on about Vancouver winning 4-1 against dallas though

I still think it'll be Canucks in 6. Canucks will squander another great effort by Luongo tomorrow, but will take it back in Dallas.

One more game and we are good to go for the first round, I am so excited about them making it to the second round, Vancouver is going to be soooo alive when that happens.

I think they are going to end up facing Detroit by the way that the flames are playing... but I could care less about the flames.

We'll see, I want to snatch tickets for the second round... hopefully I will be able to get a couple from my mom's work who holds tickets all season for everything that comes to GM place.

Sandra the NHL second round uses the same system as the first round. Higher seeded team in the reg season plays the lowest remaining team. Meaning Vancouver *3 in reg season* would play Anaheim *2nd in the reg season*.

While Detroit *1st in reg season* would play San Jose *4 or 5th in the reg season*

Same goes for the east. If we play detroit it would be in the western conference final.
