Its super easy for us pink kids to say things like that Sunshyne, because odds are we have not experienced racism. But when you are a racial minority, you experience it first hand. Imagine right now that you had a child who was of mixed race, and your child came home daily upset because children who watch family guy, the simpsons and SP are calling them derogatory names. They are kids, maybe they don't know better. But, maybe, if they had parents who knew that even the most subtle references to ethnic difference create just that, difference, they would be raise their children to be understanding, and your kid wouldn't have to deal with being ridiculed by their peers.
This shit is epidemic, and by tolerating it you are ultimately accepting it.

the terrorist comment the osama comment the Jewish-well comment yes, it is a matter of interpretation. even so, odds are that a vast majority of you who read these comments thought straight away about their race conotations. that makes them racist. sorry, i don't have time for a debate. this is what *i* think.

I fail to see where this thread became a racial hate fest.
The only point of derailment I can see is Tara's post calling the thread a racial gang bang. The shit person comment had no racial connotations to it at all, it was a straight forward attack on his character. The Osama comment did not having anything to do with it either; WHO IS THE BIGGEST NAME IN HIDING RIGHT NOW??? It just so happens that they're both Muslim. I blame the media and society for causing Tara's knee jerk reaction due to their divisions in race and religion, SO SHAME ON YOU! As far as the Borat piece, this is to lighten things up a bit, ever notice that Sacha Baron Cohen is in fact Jewish himself? If you can't laugh at yourself and your peers you're in for a lot of hurt in this world. The entrance of Al Sharpton & Don Imus, anyone who is up to date in the media cluster fuck this has become would realize how rediculous both of these men are. Imus has a big mouth and I personally find him quite unfunny. Meanwhile, Sharpton constantly grasps at any sort of so called "RACIAL UNJUSTICE" he can find and propogates it into a media sideshow to ultimately try and benefit his own character. BOTH OF THESE MEN ARE INSANE! If you can't find the humour in any of this I suggest you take a long look at how much you're going to let the words and actions control you through out the rest of your lives.
