We are hoping that this system might aid us a bit in that moderation. Who knows... it may or may not. That is something we are currently monitoring.

Also, "assuming" isn't "knowing". Things are being done on the back pages by the FNK Dev. Team and ranting that it's not being "instituted" properly is a bit weak. I've received some PMs on comments and suggestions on the continued improvement on the site, and I will continue to open my PM box for any other legitimate insights.

If you had actually read what I wrote you'd see it isn't a shady underbelly at all. It was a controlled group experimenting the new system. If it was going to be a "shady underbelly" we wouldn't have made it so obvious by limiting the amount of neg karma given at a time. These are all parts of an analytical process that you're failing to see.

I could spend a couple days polishing the karma system so it couldn't get abused...but i'd rather be working on other things. It only takes me 5 minutes to adjust it and ban people.

With the new system all of your karma cred can blow up, for example, the user RAWB is already "A JEWEL IN THE ROUGH"...in previous systems that may have taken longer to obtain...in a sense you have karma control, which promotes demoncracy on this board....on a sidenote,what is up with all the fisher price display pictures....is it some inside thing i missed? FP is dope, but it appears to be a collective fnk interest...i guess great minds just think alike?

maybe people should just stop taking karma so seriously. obviously a lot more karma, both good and bad, is going to be distributed if you take off the limits. i'm more annoyed by shitty posts having like 4+ karma for nothing, haha. besides, as soon as i see a collapsed post i check to see what was so bad about it. the karma games will get boring for everyone again soon anyway.

No. That's not it's function. That seems to be what you and your friends are using it for.

The function of the karma system is to lower the emphasis on shitty posts and to raise the awareness of good posts and so far it's been working pretty well.
