Girls: Hair Question

I am wanting to dye my hair to a lighter blonde color. As of right now I am currently a dark brown.

I have not used box dye in the past year/year and a half so I will be doing it professionally.

Has anyone gone through this? (Myra I couldnt find you at work today to talk to you about this).

Any tips while doing it or what path I should take?

My hairdresser has moved so I dont have anyone currently to help me with this. Any tips would be great.

I am going to go to a salon, but does anyone know how long it will take, how much around it should cost ect.

Do it in a salon, honestly going light should be done gradually.

I went blond last year and now i'm back to brunette (the picture in my profile pic is what my hair is like now and what it was like before going blond).

I wanted to go back to brunette because my hair is a lot healthier as a brunette and the maintanence was a pain in the ass.

The initial process cost around $200 and the second time I spent about $130

It took two appointments over the course of 4 months and this is what my hair looked like at the time.

I highly recommend you go to Asia at Kokopelli, she's fantastic
