That's a good point, a lot of people call 911/go to the emergency room when the really don't need to.

Interesting note, the last time I went to get stitches I went to a medical clinic instead. No wait at all, was out in 15 mins, the whole time the doctor was saying it was cool because he never got to do anything like this.

When it comes to something like stiches, I would rather get them done in the emergency room where they deal with stuff like that on a daily basis. Stiches if done correctly from lots of practice, will heal to have almost no visable traces.... but done by a noob, will leave a nasty looking scar.

Which could have benefits on it's own... like lying and saying you fought a bear when people ask about your scar.

tell me about it... my best friend crushed in a car accident,
head on, was unconscious, bleeding everywhere (she cut her eye lid open, cut her face, blood everywhere) and (luckily, i was in car in front), i called 911, they told me hold, u should hear the words i told them lol i was angry like never before..

this happened to be twice...
I've called an ambulance a fair amount because of where I work and twice i've been put on hold..
and once they were like "We don't have any cars in the area is it that serious?" (I live in north van) and i'm like well its a head injury so i'm aassuming so yes "ok well we will do what we can"
20 minutes later...
so bad, that could be the diff between life and death

I had stitches done on my face in the ER after a drunken brawl one night downtown.

Minimal scar. Thank you late night ER doctor!
