Cell Phone Boosters

Has anyone ever used something like this: eBay.ca: NEW CELL PHONE SIGNAL BOOSTER EXTERNAL ANTENNA CAR HOME (item 200112543066 end time 23-May-07 21:24:24 EDT)

I used to have my cell phone through Telus, but I dropped them because the signal was weak to non-existant in my house, whereas Fido/Rogers worked fine. I'm not under contract with Fido, so I can drop them no problem.

The reason I'm looking at switching back to Telus mainly has to do with a plan they have available for another week and a half. For $25, you get 200 daytime minutes, unlimited evenings/weekends at 6pm, voice mail, call display, 911 and SAF. Not only that, but I'm sure I could get my contract buyout back, plus they sent me a coupon for $50 towards service. Switching back to them would save me about $20/month, plus $250. I also lost my phone I was using with Fido, so I could get a new phone by going back on a contract.

If that booster there works, I'd order one up for sure, and switch. If not, I might look into some other options. Seems some of the more advance repeaters cost about $400, which is a bit steep.

buy a decent cell phone and you won't have crappy reception

as far as those cell phone boosters go i can't say i've personally tried one but the people i know who bought them ended up tossing them into the trash can.

1.) They don't work
2.) I'm so glad i'm on unlimited calls anytime.. when i was with telus, my bill was around 240-300/month... now i'm with fido and happier then ever

Damn, that sucks. I guess I'm stuck with Fido then. Saving money and getting a shitload back would be nice, but not having cell coverage at home sucks.

Unfortunately, good phone/cheap phone, old phone/new phone, Bell/Telus, it's all irrellevent. The CDMA coverage is non-existant inside my house. Walk out side, and you got 4 bars.
