Bose 3-2-1 or Yamaha YSP?

looking to add the next piece to the home theatre

currently have the pioneer pdp-5070 (50" plasma), and am looking for the best bang for my buck (speaker wise).

keep in mind im not looking for a full 5.1 (5 speaker) system. i've narrowed it down to 2 i like (bose 3-2-1, yamaha ysp), both because of their reviews, me demo'ing them, and their size.

anyone have a preference?

Bose gear used to be the way to go. Now I would not recommend it. They still have decent products, but futureshit isn't going to be carrying them. The Yamaha has a lot of "gee-whiz" factor, and that's going to help the psycho-acoustics, which is probably what you're after if you went with a 50" plasma.

I can't make a better recommendation until we know if you're putting this in an apartment (compact studio-grade speakers) or a house (speakers you can be buried in)

i used to sell alot of the bose 321 systems back in the day.i know that little bastard inside and out! ..lol..

awsome for smaller applications with tight walls for accoustic bounce.

beleive it or not sony has a great 321 product. i cant recall the model number and im too lazy to google it but its on sonys mai9npage.

i know sony gets alot of flack in the industry about their audio line....but ive always been impressed with their 321 system on the sales floor.

when i was last in the game it retailed at 999 or so, but you can wrangle your salesguy down to around 899-950 easy....

throwin ya for a loop but bang for buck id go with the sony.

it'll be in an apartment. theoretically, i could go all out with the 5/6.1, but i really dont want wires running around, with speakers all over the place, not yet anyways.
