USC 10 @ Seahawks Stadium
For me it was literally a last minute decision to go to the party and I am so glad I went.
First time in Seahawk Stadium for a massive and USC did a great job on all 3 stages. The main stage was killer and the sound for such an open space was phenomenal! Sick solid, punchy basslines and clear sound. I went to go see Rabbit in the Moon since they were performing a live set and they did not disappoint! The live tunes were great, amazing visuals and the tricks Bunny had up his sleeve were awesome. Steve Porter was the next DJ before Paul van Dyk and he spun a wicked set as expected. PvD came on at 2am and opened with probably the longest intro I have ever hear. He then proceeded to spin the hardest set I have ever heard him spin. Sick, sick basslines and I couldn't help but dance my ass off. Didn't get a lot of time to listen to the breaks room and got to see a bit of Swamps set before we tried to find the DnB room to see what Pendulum had in store. Took us a while to figure out that the 3rd stage is BEHIND the main stage. Pretty stupid setup. For me the party was all about the main stage. It was one of the best setups I have seen in a while. Lots of visuals, very creative setup for the laser effects and just amazing sound. Now it is time to get some sleep. |

what a fuckin; show that was.
I loved having 2 beers on me while walking around lol stupid security gaurd. Rabbit in the Moon was the craziest shit Ive seen in a long time. Bassnector and Swamp had the sets of the night for me. DNB stage...the worst sound of the 3...I didnt like teh location. I think I had more fun @ the hotel afterwards lol and to that couple that were having sex right in front of the window in the hotel across from us hahah thanks for the laugh. overall 9/10 wyatt jeff guys.....until freaknight 11 ....buds nice to see alot of vancity peeps up for this one HALF LIFES THE SHIT BITCH, YEAH I LOVE IT@! Indeed Winston, we were certainly happy you made it & in record time as well I might add. On to USC...
The Venue for first timers and of course repeat offenders is solid. They really know how to convert a perfectly innocent stadium/kiosk area into something much greater and eye catching. The main stage as Winston mentioned was looking slick with 4 huge screens and 2 LCD screens all synchronized to most of RITM's set. Of course there was a load of intelligent lighting huge sound and of course a laser that shot onto a huge sphere shaped bubble above the dance floor. RITM's fused blend of hard crushing beats and stage acting was certainly a nice refreshing twist to the many shows I’ve been to in the last year. If you haven’t seen them, mark it down on your to do list sometime in the next few years. On to Paul Van Dyk, the real reason I was motivated to drive down and check things out. His set was full of classics and was a lot faster than usual. I've seen him perform in different parts of the world and this was almost a special caliber show designed for the younger crowd there in Seattle. He also laid down Josh Wink's Higher State of Consciousness which I’m sure was a tribute to the NW. Overall he played hard and furious with lots of transitions throughout. Highlights: The break beat remix of For An Angel and Filo & Perry’s Anthem song on that system. Overall, the space size of USC had shrunk but the layout and sound certainly made up for any shortages in actual party space. Worst part of the night was that the beer garden had closed its doors by 1:00am. Tough on a guy who only wants to drink at the party. |

What a wicked weekend.. a ton of driving for me, but very worth it. Made a few shopping stops before hitting up seattle, even got to check out some design stuff i did that was at a store down in bellevue.. finally got to check out sephora and got some of goodies (wow things are a lot cheaper there). We were planning to have dins at the Cheesecake Factory, but it was 20-45 mins wait (wtf estimate is that?) Instead we had dinner at the Taphouse grill.. 160 beers on tap, ive never seen anything like that before..all the taps on the wall, it was amazing. Food was really yummy and i had a few 4 ounce martinis. yummmmm..
USC..i had SO much fun. The party was so so so much fun, i think usc 6 was the same venue set up... was it even in the same building? i think im losing my mind. We didnt even find the 3rd room til around 1/2ish, not a big deal, in the end we didnt spend too much time in there. I love seattle parties because i can carelessly party without bumping into anyone i know, good vibes and always a new environment. I spent most my time in the breaks room..hello bass (Lorin was awesome..cant wait to see him at shambles again).. and of course watched PVD. RITM was a bit over the top for me.. definately interesting but it was a lil over the top freaky. Had such a great time, cant wait to party in seattle again. I didnt really see anyone either... saw erin, cece's posse and i thinkkk i spotted ash from afar. Wish i got to party with u guys...next time for sure :) excuse my internet slang/grammer... |

Well... it was a good night. Bassnectar was amazing (as usual) can't wait to se him in the woods about 2 weeks from now :). Pendulum... this is what I went down there to see... it was fucking good. However, the sound was awful and that MC didn't shut up (until Jovi and I made the 'shhh' face at him and he finally shut the hell up. The set up was good except I think I found my hell - trying to get to the Jungle through a bunch of high trance heads. Breaks were good until someone got up there and started playing happy hardcore? People listen to this? Yeah.

Ok Venue i give a 9.5 out of ten, only because i liked Freemont better at Freaknight. RITM wasnt really my thing , But the Ball at the end was Cool Shit!!!!Bassnectar rocked ! Pendulum woulda been dope if the sound in that Room wasn't Shiit ! I found one dope spot right in the back of the room where the sound was alright . But by that time, I was leaving to go catch the end Of Swamps set on the other side of the building. After Swamp Pat and Jeff informed me it was time to go , Kinda sucked, cause the shitty american pill i got was just kicking on me!! >> smokies out side were GOLDEN!! Then we went back to the hotel room and drank one of the four cases of beer we had that night . Partied with a random girrl from Long beach Cali .. All in all, a Helluva Seattle Trip Boys !!!
