When my company's security is on, I can't get onto facebook, nwdnb.bc.ca or any other forum...but fnk always works. Is this just a freak coincidence?

Perhaps FNK just isn't recognized as a big threat by the filters?

They are probably well aware of facebook and such, but when it comes to a smaller message board, perhaps they haven't looked into it yet and added it to their list of potential high risk sites.

fnk is nowhere near the size of any of the major forums and sites like myspace etc...

so they would not be included into the filters..

in order for the filters to ban the sites, the people must know about this forum

and i'm not sure where you work.. but how big of a chance is there taht they know about fnk and see it as a threat to the staffs productivity?

I just said all messageboards and clubs are filtered. I don't think my company knows about North West Drum and Bass and yet it is blocked.

It's not blocking sites specifically but by categories according to their content.

No meta tag for anything remotely forum related, where as nwdnb.bc.ca has 'board' right there in the website header. Whatever web-crawler they used to build a black-list of online forums probably started by reading the meta tags of websites en masse looking for keywords like forum, board, phpbb, etc. FnK has clearly avoided using such keywords in their meta tags.

How the URL for FnK's forum is fnk.ca/board somehow eludes the filter is beyond me.
