AVP ,as a 'movie' movie goes was pretty formulaic.

but i fuckin LOVED IT. the alien/predetor is the only fanboy/scifi franchise i care about.

they could cast paris hilton in the lead and id still be in line to see it...

Could be Ripley's Great Grandmother or something like that, or maybe just her grandmother? Guess you'll have to wait to see!
Thoes who might have read any of the early graphic novels might have some idea :P
As for the Hybrid, Aliens and Pred's have been at if for years (in terms of the timeline of the movie's and such), so, in a more traditional fashion, leaving the end of AvP1 as they did was pretty SOP.
