downie is a pretty big guy! and considering his track record (2 world junior golds) he should have used more common sense even for a tough guy especially since it's only pre-season. Downie will get Bertuzzi'd by the media. And I agree. Indefinite Suspension to make a point.

If he gets sent down to the phantoms of the AHL. The AHL commissioner gets to choose if he wants to uphold the NHL's 20 game suspension. Use thier own punishment or throw it out completely and let him play.

yea but how do you think he got those medals? cause hes a great player, but hes best when the other team shits their pants in the corners. he plays damn well and hes a great on-ice mobster.... like i said he needs a coach taht can control him. in juniors he only got those golds cause his coach did a damn good job. basically he needs to be pushed to his limit.. there is a thin line between making huge hits or decapitating someone, and if he can be helped to walk close but not over that line, then i think he will do well in the NHL.

besides, philly could use a roughneck like him... just like their team in the 70s :nuts:... kay maybe not THAT blood thirsty.. but those games were awesome.
