you single out one event, you can single them all out. other municipalities/cities might get it into their heads that it is a good idea to start canceling all of these revenue generating events because they dont want to come up with a better game plan before hand.

Why is it so hard to believe that a town where the average age is in the early to mid 40's doesn't want this type of headache in their backyard?

This issue isn't about not having fun in BC, it's about finding suitable locations for the events being discussed.

I agree with you. But Salmo likes Shambhala being there. It brings money that they wouldn't otherwise have coming in. Look at the subway in town on Monday afternoon...

This also shows why Shambhala doesn't allow booze on site. And I applaud them for it.

jim, i hear what you are saying. i understand that the older residents of kelowna dont want this event, but that doesnt mean there isnt a young contingent that live there.

we have so few festivals and events in this province losing yet another is a shame, regardless of the douchebag factor. i cant see any other communities in the okanagan welcoming the event anymore than kelowna based on the reitree population. and there is no room for it here in vancouver.
