FireWire will become famous soon enough
Carl Cox club shooting in Caracas (GRAPHIC FOOTAGE)

WARNING: This is serious. Do not watch if you are disturbed by bodies.

Only put the video ID in between the BB code tags, NOT the full URL!Only put the video ID in between the BB code tags, NOT the full URL!El Universal:
After an hour of Techno House at the hands of DJ Carl Cox, on the back of the rostrum A La Rinconada a firefight that lasted only a few moments left four people dead in the middle of the track, two of them on the left side near the bar and three more on the right side. Por el resto del salón otras cinco personas se movÃ*an heridas. For the rest of the hall moved five others injured. Era la 1:30 de la madrugada. It was the 1:30 in the morning.

VJ Rei:
I was doing my last concert by requiest of one of the promoters last night. I was retairing because I was seek of so many idiots driving production companies, people without education. The owners of the productions companies start tu cut corners and hire people without experience.

Last night, 15 meter from me when Carl Cox started his show and 10 minutes into it some one started to shot every one. I sounded like firecrackers, so fast I didn’t think was a gun. Everybody started to run like crazy.

I was in the main, doing my visuals and filming the show. I just grabbed the camera and started to film everything what was going on.

3 dead body’s on the floor, a young guy, a woman and a man. The husband of the woman was shot as well in the leg. Several others people as well but they managed to run.

Mute, my VJ was infront of the shooter, his girlfriend saw the guy with the gun and gave a warning. Mute, saw the guy starting to shoot, stoped and keep shooting and then the shooter realized what he just did and ran.

The party was going so well.

I knew the sponsor, I knew the promoters. The sponsor was Marlboro and was a good guy. The promoters too but no one of security was checking for weapons or anything.

UPDATE: Martin Valero blog [comment]:
It’s true. Last night I was on the terrace at the club and at 1:30 this fucker fired his gun. I didn’t think they were gunshots as previously they had fired off some fireworks and I thought it was the same. Suddenly people started to run and when I turned around I saw some bodies on the floor. When we got closer it was really sad to see those people in agony and a girl bathed in blood with her husband on the floor next to another guy. Another woman saw and started to cry ‘that’s my brother.’ Altogether, it was 4 dead and 3 wounded and I left. It’s sad that if at this type of event these things keep happening with such bad and insufficient security that it’s not the first time, it will not be the last at the fault of some assholes who didn’t know how to control what kind of jerks get in. That just by looking at them or finding them by mistake, just that is the spark that causes the explosion and the worst is that innocent people die just for being in the line of fire.

UPDATE: Carl Cox issues statement:
I am deeply shocked and still stunned by the events of this Saturday [3rd November]. My condolences go out to victims that were caught up in this horrific act that took place at this gig. I am informed that it was gang related and feel so sad that anybody would act in such a manner when the event was full of 7000 people having fun! I will try my best to continue on the tour across South America however deeply shocked and shaken I am.

If only clubs in the rest of the world would institute fashion regulations like Vancouver, they wouldn't be seeing these problems.

DAMNS YOU ED HARDY!

So clubs in other places don't enforce regulations we have here?? such as pat down, etc.??

And yea.. this is totally one of the reasons I'd prefer raves over clubs anytime. Raves are peaceful with much less violence. When was the last time a gunshot was heard at a rave?

To the innocent ppl.. R.I.P

the shooting doesn't give the music a bad name. the stupid promoters/nightclub owner(s) who decided that having 7000 ppl in a south american club without the proper security measures give music a bad name.

A huge number of people gathered in a giant hall or club listening to loud techno music is a rave.

Very tragic... Its terrible that gun wielding fucks ruin everything. Whether random or related to something, this sorta thing is pretty needless.

But I do think a techno party (rave) is much safer than a hip hop night (club).

Therefore, I still think raves are more peaceful especially when you compare the effects of ecstacy and alcohol.

Man this limegreenlaser guy is living in the 90s. You can't take the context of this situation and make a sweeping statement like that. And who uses that argument anymore about the differing effects of E and Alcohol? Last time i checked numerous people did both, and SURPRISE at a rave too.

blanket statements really have their shortcomings.

Nope, not a rave.. for it to be a rave he would have to play all techno.

You're missing my point here..... That party in the footage sure looks like a rave to me, and people were killed and injured... sooooo... raves arent all peaceful and fuzzy. People are all jacked up on the same shit, whether its at that party or at sonar. Its not gonna make a difference if its a club or a rave when someone goes there to blast people....its too bad guys with guns got in there in the first place.

somewhat true. guns and weapons COULD make it to dancefloors even with the proper enforced regulations but that risk would be a LOT lower if proper regulations were taken in this case.

This situation in caracas can easily happen in vancity, maybe even more deadly, especially since now both the circle boys and u.n are at war with each other...

Dude that was just a marketing ploy to get you to spend all your piggy bank money on rave paraphernalia, tickets, water and drugs. It was pretty effective too until the scene opened to wider audiences then it became cool to be the non-raver.
