What are you having for xmas dinner?

My family has stopped rocking the turkey on xmas day :) now we slow cook/bbq a big ass prime rib roast. And I cook a ham and bring it over.

we still do

-mash potatoes
-stuffing(my fav)
-sweet potatoes
-peas/corn/carrots
-all kinds of xams junk food

Spending time with the girlfriend and her friends this year as we are all foreigners, combination of Mexican, Russian, Japanese and Danish Food.

My Boyfriend and I are hosting christmas dinner for 30 at our house this year..and I am doing all the cooking!! First time ever!!

The menu :

Appies: (everyone comes over around 2ish)

Smoked Gruier? and Artichoke Dip
Deviled eggs <---loveee
Fresh Fruit

Dinner:

BBQ'ed ham with grilled pinapple <--for me because I hate turkey!
Bacon and Maple Glazed Turkey stuffed with Apples and Oranges
Roasted garlic and Fresh Chive Mashed Potatoes
Dilled Carrots
Brusselsprouts? <--for the one person that will eat them...
Yams <---made my mom
Hashbrown Casserole <-so ghetto but so good. My fav holiday food.!!
Multigrain Cranberry Stuffing with Rosemerry
Peppercorn Gravy
Liver Stuffing <---made by mom
Cabbage <--made by oma
Dinner Buns
Broccoli <---maybe..I love broccoli!

Dessert:

Whatever my sister brings

Drinks:

Peppermint and Chocolate Martini's (garnished with a candy cane!)
Rum and Eggnog
Baileys and Hot chocolate (assorted flavours!)

I am so betty house wife these days.. Im really excited. Im so full just thinking of all the food were having!!

Chances are we're gonna have more or less the same stuff as we have every year..
dinner- turkey (usually a bit on the dry side), sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, corn, cooked carrots (and raw ones for those who don't like 'em cooked), turkey and/or mushroom gravy, brussel sprouts, stuffing (not sure exactly what kind), pickles.
desserts- pumpkin pie (hopefully), butter tarts, various squares and cookies (made by grandma), possibly some other sort of cake.
drinks- homemade punch, wine (red and white), beer, not sure what else.
miscellaneous- those silly Xmas crackers with the hats inside.

Christmas dinner will be so different this year. About 8 months ago I quit meat and dairy... and thinking about what the rest of my family usually eats... almost everything is either meat or made with dairy in it!

I should look up some vegan Christmas ideas for this year! :idea:

^alot of that along with all the usual turkey,mashers,stuffing,yams,corn,peas.. ..my g-ma gose to town for dinner and its a very large archetypal type gathering.

christmas eve is the big dinner on my mums side of the family with all the cousins. i think there are 13 or so grandkids me,the eldest at 25, down to baby laura whos 2 or 3 so its a gong show nut house.

plus on my mumsies side they are all red-headed mick/scotts so when the younger kids are sedated by christmas videos the baileys,scotch and heated arguments flow free....

im already practicing to trump my uncle this year,in honour of my father, at whatever doosh topic he comes up with to stir up shit LOL.....last year it was how 'ridicoulous and stupid high art and collectables are'....

the last few years my clan did a nice big salmon for easter dinner.
