I try not to attend clubs that require me to stand outside for a long period of time just cause they feel that it's acceptable.

I also attend ticketed events early enough to make sure I'm not caught my the LONG line up.

well I'll go to Hush in victoria.. that plays sick house with no lineup, or ill go on a wednesday where the owner will let me drop a couple freestyles on breaks night .. and obviously there's lots of good clubs

but most clubs with BIG lineups are shitty top 40s clubs

This thread is almost too cool for me with the "Ha ha, I get in clubs for free" and the "ha ha, you guys wait in line?" crap.

It's great when you know a few people who work at a club, or have some other connection. But don't let it go to your head, because once your friend loses his job your ass will be at the back of the line.

PS- When they let you skip the line, make sure you tip the coat check/ticket booth girl otherwise you look like an ass.

whenever i go out to a venue where im listed,vip'ed or i know somebody on staff ect. i always feel a little squimish and am super careful not to come off llike a obnoxious knob.

There are only a few clubs that won't let you skip the line if you work in the service industry and I usually avoid those ones but if i'm supposed to meet my friends somewhere amazing and there's no option to skip the line i'll pay the $20 to get in.

Hey, door girls do a lot more than watch the guestlist!

They have to deliver a lot of bad news to a lot of people who have that 'holy shit, i'm too cool to pay cover' attitude and negotiate with large parties. You have to butter up a lot of people too and be extra nice, even if they are being jerks. From my own experiences being a door girl, I know it's totally not easy work for sure haha..so I'll definitely tip a good door girl. A bitchy one on the other hand...haha
