case in point: i knew this girl who worked at the mall and she would always laugh at me when i made a fashion faux pas, like wearing green pants and a blue shirt and would always be talking about that catty fashion shit.

and just now one of my friends who is a techie just PM'd something totally incomprehensible on msn. it's one of those internet bandwagon pictures and its futurama, and it involves a fucking flow chart and other office related shit. i dunno, i guess im turning into a roughneck that only finds work related injuries funny.

it's shaped by everything in life, so definitely plays at least a small part. I've had a million different jobs too, each work place has slightly different style of work jokes.

with that said, it's a pretty good source for comedic material

but yes jobs and damn near anything.. hospitals.. rehab centres, etc are basis for comedy material. real comedians will tell you freestyle stories about their lives, not a bunch of punch line bullshit jokes.
