Do you believe in tipping more during the holidays?

let's say it's NYE/Christmas and your at the water stand at a rave.. haha or eating at a restaurant or taking a cab. And you have the opportunity to tip the person serving you.

Do you tip the person more because they are sacraficing their celebration and holiday to make money? I've worked through holidays before and it's SHITTY.

I reaped the benefits of people being more generous with their tips pre-christmas. :D
I really appreciated the extra $$$ in my pocket, especially bc I worked 8 days in a row serving big christmas parties right up until xmas pretty much.

as far as I am concerned, everyone else is tipping more heavily, so I don't tip any different than I would on any other day of the year.

Also, why should I pay someone extra to do a job they are more than willing to do?

A tip is earned, and should not be expected. Bartenders, waitresses, valet car parkers, delivery drivers etc...

If the bartender can hold a conversation with me while doing some cool bottle flare, then absolutely I will tip.

If a waitress is outstanding, is quick on the draw, gets me my drink within 45 seconds and isn't dressed as a floosey, then I will think about tipping.

If a cab driver dodges in and out of traffic in hopes that if he can get me to my destination 2 minutes quicker than if he had actually done the speed limit, I will not tip. That's my life you're messing with pal.

I don't get tipped or any extra sort of "extra" when i do my job really well (hell, even when I just show up and do the bare minimum as so many people in the "tipping" world do)... why should anyone else?

ppl can choose to work when they want to.....and don't tell me "you have to" cause that bull. i'll tip really well, if its good service, dosn't matter what day it is.
