Anyone have one of these? How do you like it?

I have one and so does my brother. We love them! The only problem with having one in Canada is that neither Rogers nor Fido has half-decent plans for wireless internet over 10mb per month. If you go over that be prepared to pay out the ass - my last bill was $466 :( However, apparently Rogers is going to be adding some better wireless plans soon to react to the growing iPhone use in Canada.

^^ The government is also supporting more diversity in the GSM wireless game so hopefully we'll have more choice soon; more reasonable data plans and more carriers to choose from.

too bad the new iphones with 1.1.2 haven't been properly unlocked or I'd be getting an iphone to use with my grandfathered Fido Unlimited Data plan, $50/month.

isnt the iphone a wifi? hence, allowing you to use it's internet features without having to pay for a data package?

all depends on your situation. if you're at a point in your life where you need internet access 24/7 then you probably wouldn't need to worry about $500 bills.

I'm rockin an HTC touch and love it. Tho i wish the HTC had the google map feature. Try that one out, you'll love it too. If you're on rogers you'll get the wi-fi but on Telus wi-fi is locked so you'll have to pay a little extra. Telus is really good anyways and I'm not paying much more for when i was on Fido.

There are two version of the HTC Touch:
-one for GSM (Rogers/Fido) with wifi enabled
-one for CDMA(Telus/Bell) which does not include wifi.

i've still got my fingers crossed that when it's released up here in 2008 (June I hear? But there's all sorts of rumors) rogers will release an acceptable unlimited internet package with it.

on the other hand, the verizon/lg voyager looks awfully sexy.

either way though, wifi is not a replacement for services like edge. some people (like myself) require 24/7 access without the hassles of hopping from one wifi network to the next, changing wep keys, etc. luckily my work covers my berry.

if I ever need to use the internet when I'm not around a computer... I usually phone someone who might be at one to search something for me.

I don't need an iphone or phones like it.

I would like my phone to make and take calls.. and to send and receive texts

I have a list of reason why the HTC Touch is the worst phone and can also list 15 different website that say the same thing, but Ill let you figure out the problems on your own instead of trying to convince you why.

I'll be more than happy if you link me to just one site. Preferebly a top site. To be honest this is my first smartphone and I've pretty much played with all the features and settings since i'm comfortable using windows mobile. however I have discovered some minor issues at the same time but being tech litterate i've found my way around them. Also considering that my last phone was motorola (and imo all moto products suck) this thing will get top shelf.

True enough! I like to mess around with new toys as much as possible and as soon as I notice a problem I'll be back at the store getting exchanged within 30 days. And with my phone purchasing habbits I'll probably get a phone before next year anyways. New toys ftw.

Voip will make the ipod touch a walking Skype device soon enough.

Fuck paying for a CDMA/GSM signal when you can do it wirelessly.

GSM sucks though, and there will be a 3G iphone coming soon enough
