No I'm pretty sure "Nguyen" is pronounced "wing". I was so proud of myself when I learned that this year.

i was always told nguyen was pronounced "nu-yen".. strange.

ng is chinese (not sure exactly what kind of chinese if you want to get nitty gritty, nguyen is vietnamese. get it right.

Ng = Ing (like do-ing)
