see the thing i find funny is that anonymous recognizes those wrongdoings, HOWEVER they are taking action based on scientology's questionable attacks of copyright infringements and the actions they take based on laws.

Scientology has had a long battle with the first amendment and trying to censor information related to their religion since the internet existed. The war between "the internet" and "Scientology" has existed long before anonymous put out a press release. Anonymous is just essentially a flash mob of goons from somethingawful.com who troll on /b/ on 4chan.org who decide to take up action for fun. They also massively manipulate the media for kicks. Ever had 50,000 people phone news stations all over the world saying that Eminem died? You'd be surprised how much that "story" got ran on the news. All my friends got fooled.

Anon is just pissed Scientologists are fucking with important nerd stuff like Digg and Slashdot. But the battle between scientology and somethingawful.com goons has been going on for a long time. It's just a running joke.

I'm more in favour of "site archivings" myself :D

I knew a girl that apparently committed suicide that was getting involved with the COS shortly before this time.

The day of the incident she was caught on camera getting her hair done and taking out a large sum of money from the bank...the police didn't let the parents identify the body...it was tres fishy.
