well, the bone density in feet would be concentrated around the toes, which would make the feet float ankle up, like a really nasty, gangrenous decomposing keel. Since your feet are symmetrically, but (hopefully) differently shaped, they would float off in two separate directions to some degree, depending on the strength of the current.

... Not that I've given it a lot of thought or anything...

The bit about not being able to determine gender, age or "stature of ancestry" (when did people stop saying race?) from a foot seems a dubious claim, especially from a forensic anthropologist. Seriously, lady, if you can get DNA off the damned foot you can determine all 3 of those facts. Christ, that's fucking embarrassing for you.

I know someone who grew up on the sunshine coast. She said they get a lot of bodies washed up. Found one on her property once that turned out to be a woman who had jumped off a bridge in Vancouver. Something about the currents. The feet were probably dumped near the city.
