We enjoyed our time with the lights off. Except when we had to go to the bathroom. Since all my environmental responsibilities have been filled, I will now turn all of my lights on and leave them on until they burn out, plus I'm going to leave my car idling until the gas runs out, and I'm going to leave my stove on in the winter and my fridge open in the summer.

Thank God that environmental bullshit is dealt with.

Whether this makes people think about it again or not, at the very least we saved some energy for an hour and every little bit counts. This campaign might not mean a hell of a lot for us old people but what it does do, is get little Johnny in grade 5 coming home and telling his parents to shut the fucking lights out. So while us old people might be too cool for school, the younger generation will hopefully have a different outlook and continue to put pressure on us old people.

Yesterday was not about the amount of energy you can save in one hour, it was about raising more awareness and my guess is there were a lot of teachers in elementary school talking about it with their kids who in turn put pressure on their parents.

we did earth hr at my (new) restaurant last night. it was interesting!

I definitely tripped on the top of the stairs and tossed a bowl of french onion soup. but otherwise, all was well.
