hey, if you don't care, you don't even have to take the time to read the thread or even reply. just keep on being consistent with the whole 'not caring' thing.

I think people who refuse to care or participate should do that. Pointing out that they don't care and that people who care are somehow just as bad because of other decisions they make in their lives is pretty unproductive.

if it makes you feel guilty, then that's something that should be on your own conscience and not hers.

Not all of us are against child molestation, but that doesn't change the facts of the matter. We should care. We should be willing to cut down our consumption (especially if you plan on having any children). And her coming on here to "guilt trip" you is absolutely essential to the legacy of the planet we're leaving for the next generation. Other people exist, and by just saying we're all guilty and shouldn't care because you don't like the way the message was delivered is not a humane excuse to willingly ignore the devastating effect we're having on the world. Your kids will have no choice but to care. They are the ones to inherit the problems we are making, whether or not we care. Then again, we are the greediest, most entitled, self-centered generation in history, so I don't expect anything positive to come from this.

i feel guilty every. single. day.
i've already made it pretty clear that there are many other people doing much better than i am with this. i'm just trying to shed some light on the situation as many people aren't even aware that livestock is polluting more than transportation. that you can make a difference without going all or nothing.

i go to bed every night assessing my life and finding fault in all kinds of things that i do.
the difference is that when i feel guilty i make attempts to change.
if you want to ignore your guilt, that is you own choice.

not quite
dumplings have a different outer shell, and quite frankly, they're not nearly as tasty!

^ Not everything to do with agriculture/livestock leaves a huge carbon footprint. Everything in moderation - the point of this thread is to try to reduce your footprint, not eat twigs and berries.

carrie and i will do our best to use all local/ organic ingredients.
we'll spend our carbon on the imported wodka.

^ It's pretty easy. We have all of our dairy delivered by Avalon (local/organic!) and have since 1987! There's not really THAT much of a cost difference, either.
