Want to stop receiving facebook event messages?

if this is common knowledge I apologize. It may not mean much if you have 5 groups you belong to but I had like 40 and about 40 messages a week.

I had Lotus Soundlounge invites coming everyday. Were talking the same one from like 2 people or the same event 2-5 times a week. This drove me nuts b/c I never go to that place. I dropped the friends who were sending it, left the groups, and for some reason still got messages. I basically just gave up.

fast forward 2 weeks. I eat a pot cookie and get rly paranoid about the whole idea of why we as a society have to write on peoples walls, disect mine and my friends wall posts and basically label all facebook users as fucked. from there I deactivate my account and get a warning "Remember you can join facebook again at anytime and it will retain your information but you will have to subscribe to your groups again" or something along those lines. Anyways I spent about a day without facebook realizing I have a bit of a commitment to the promoters I work with and theres obviously settings to disable certain aspects of your page if you aren't comfortable w/ them. So I reactivate my account and POOF! all my groups are gone. No Lotus, No Plush Nightclub, No nothing! So now, rather than spending 1/4 of the time deleting messages I spend it updating my status! Woo Hoo.

Id just like an option that doesnt allow a promoter to invite you to an event for 14 days after you have remove their event from your invitations.

Im so sick of removing myself from an event just to have the same person (or an employee of the bar/promotion company/rave ect) invite me again 2 mins later. Only to be repeated 5 or 6 times.

You know what I want to stop getting? Invites to all the stupid applications that everyone adds to thier pages!! Why the hell would I want 500 things all over my page? Who has the time to actually do all those?!

When someone invites you to an application, underneath it there is an option to "block future invites from user" or to "block application" - usually I select both. If they're really bothering me, I take them off my friends list entirely.

I almost never list that I am "maybe attending" an event because you still get spammed for maybes.

ya those things are fucked. i usually just wall post the person back and tell them not to send me that crap, and it stops.
