ive had a few ex's say they loved my all drunk b4....at first i was all oooh no do they mean it. so i casually mentioned it the next day to see how they react. then once i know it was just drunk talk everything is dropped. the L word can be scary i guess or flattering:P all depends who it comes from and the situation i guess

I've only said it to three people But,reflectively, only meant it once.

I'm not trying to argue here, but I'm curious to find out if this means you don't think you'll be able to love any of the women who come into your life in the meantime.

Because to me, human beings don't have a finite capacity for love. It really is infinite. That's just the way I look at things.

For example, my maternal grandfather has been married more than a few times and has had even more long term relationships. He's the most loving human being I've known and my mother always describes him and her childhood as being/having been full of love.

At the time I meant it - fully. However, looking back on it and looking at what I have now, I can see that what I felt then wasn't love.

i agree it easy to fall into the moment and get ur feeling involved and get confused. i have said i love you seriously to about 5 and i only now realize i ever truly loved 2. lust and love funny thing.

latin has i think 8 different words that all mean love but in different ways (eros being the sexual type, ect)
i think there are many different types of love and people shouldnt limit it to being about a commitment to a person. i like to see it as Buddhists see it. just love and respect everything.
