If any of you looked further into the actual article you would see that the whole "facebook status change" was a minor cause to the murder.

Further into the article youll read that the husdband was drunk and high on cocaine when he murdered his wife. Not to mention that the 15 year married couple had a history of a "votile" marriage. The wife had kicked her husdband out and 3 days before the murder the man had already seen the facebook status and expressed his feelings to his wifes parents.

In all, how much of an effect did facebook really have on this case? Or the next thing you know police will demand that relationship statuses should be baned from the internet.

This brings up that issue that the Travis Barker/DJ AM article brought up as well: What's the real "news story" and what would actually be important to those involved.

Editor: "Man kills wife? That isn't news. What's that?.. man kills wife because of FACEBOOK! Now that's a story!"

Personally I find this one far more morally ambiguous than the plane crash, probably because the story they run with here focuses on a trivial, kitschy angle whereas the focus of the plane crash story was on something non-trivial (terrible injuries), although less tragic than the fatalities.
