i think some people just might enjoy making a spectacle of their personal life/issues for others. facebook was like the greatest invention ever to these people. haha

I've deleted 350 fb friends in the last month for that reason. Dumb status updates and repetitively posting creepy/ugly pictures of themselves. I have this one fb friend who keeps posting wedding pictures up (she had two weddings to the same guy) over two years later! I can't delete her, though...I have a thing against deleting co-workers, people i've worked with or met at work, or former university classmates because of the potential awkwardness that might ensue if I ever have to work/network with them again....

That's the point of social networking sites... is it not? If you don't like seeing something there are plenty of features that help you filter out what you don't want to see.

I came accross some very confidential info at work.. some chick updated her facebook and then took the day off. the sups checked her facebook and it was like "oh, i got so drunk last night!"

She got fired.

Haha, perfect. I think it's common for employers to actually check a person's facebook/myspace during the hiring process? You got to be aware of how much info you really want out there.

The one thing most people dont realize with status up dates is that ANYONE can read your status along with your name, city, friends etc in the the search box. Although you can fix this.

But the one thing that shocks me the most is how I can end up in someones album that Im not even friends with and a profile I dont have access too, but all because they tagged one of my friends in even just one photo, I now have access to their entire album. Again this can be fixed, but most people dont bother.

Theres no need to be paranoid, just be aware.

I LOVE STATUS UPDATES!!!AND RELATIONSHIP UDATES!!!!its fucking great. Oh and the pics some people put up too,PRICELESS!!!

It takes more energy to get your nose out of joint over something so trivial,its much easier to have a good old fashioned LOL. Its also nice to be reminded that youre better then most people on your FB friend list :) Youre totally looking at this the wrong way!!! Give that ego a big bad stroke, you deserve it!
