I'm folding and getting a XBawks 360, need some good titles

no good games for ps3 anymore, itching to just have random fun gameplay for an hour or 2 a day. and the console are not that expensive anymore.

looking for some mindless games to play.

Fable 2 I found a pretty easy Zelda Style game, good for blowing off some steam. And since your character earns money while you aren't playing it's a great game if you only play every day or so for a little while.

- GTA4 (which you might have on PS3)
- Fallout 3
- Burnout Revenge (Burnout Paradise is prettier, but there's no crash challenges)
- Halo 3 (obviously)
- Gears of War & Gears of War 2
- Fable 2 (previous suggestion is seconded)
- Tiger Woods '09 (If you don't have it for PS3)

Pop onto the XBL Game arcade and pick up RezHD for 800 points while your at it. Best $8 you'll ever spend.

dead rising is an oldie but a goodie for hours of mindless enjoyment
dl xbox live arcade and get puzzlefighter, castevania SOTN, metal slug 3, bomberman, uno, castle crashers, etc. for endless enjoyment
buy monopoly to play with your girlfriend

pgr3 for arcade racing, theres a 4th but imo 3 is better
forza2 for sim racing, experience fully with the wireless racing wheel for $100

really? this is like the first time since it's inception that there are tons of good to great PS3 games to choose from. Some are ports but still...

Resistance2, Fallout 3, Little Big Planet, Valkrye Chronicals, Farcry 2, Killzone 2, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, CoD 5, Bioshock are all available and that's just off the top of my head.

Gears of War 1 and 2, Halo 3, Bioshock and Dead Space are a few of my favs.

New CoD: world at war is pretty nice. Has a really fun zombie mode which is like GOW 2's Horde mode. Xbox just upgraded the dashboard and everything today it's nuts.

I'm a bit of a bargain-bin junkie, so I must recommend FEAR, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and GRAW 2.

I'm going to totally geek out. Here are my 3.5+ star games.

Call of Duty 4 is not new, but a tried tested and true first person shooter, modern day war game. Good maps, lots of online play, plenty of guns and upgrades to work with.

Bioshock one of my favourite sci fi thrillers. Battle with home made weapons, magical power ups, and a crazy cast of characters and bad guys.

Gears 2 is a feast of futuristic gun play vs monsters of all sizes. great multiplayer, visually stunning and great gameplay mechanics solidify a solid video game series.

NHL 09 is probably one of the most thought out and complete rendition of console hockey. momentum based skating, total team control, and 'online team play' a great mode where you play as 1 player on a team.

Dead Space a sci fi adventure game much like bioshock. lots of gameplay variety on a derelict space ship. fight in zero g, manage your weapons, and figure out what gun works against what enemies on the fly.

Left 4 Dead a great zombie survival game that's made for multiplayer. where it lacks in graphics, it accels in core gameplay mechanics. picture dead rising with a variety of zombie monsters and 3 of your friends by your side.

Midnight Club LA is an arcade style racing game that is extremely well thought out. Classic gameplay elements that can be traced back to the PS1 days with modern day graphics in an open world racing enviroment.

not at all. I didn't mention GTA4 which is an epic game simply because of that. I used to work on NFS as well, so I have a good sense for arcade style racing games. Midnight Club is plain fun, even if i didn't work at Rockstar.

if ur gonna buy the xbox, get the 299 version, cause the 199 has nothin with it. no memory or hard drive i think. this is what my friend told me.

You are correct, the "arcade" version does not have a harddrive. Worth the extra money for sure.

the $199 arcade comes with a 512mb memory card and wireless controller which is more than enough for casual gamers and people who wont be on live. it also has an hdmi port but doesnt come with the cable.
