5. Who's talking about curve balls? Planning to have a child isn't a curve ball. It's a conscious decision.

I haven't said anything negative about your parenting skills. Since I wasn't talking about unplanned pregnancies, I don't know why you're taking this personally...
sorry Im not taking it personally, Im trying to argue it from all points...not just my own. My reason for doing this was because your explanation wasnt well articulated or executed, leaving it open ended thus open to be analyzed and discussed. In doing so Im trying to understand what you did not say.

Remember youre the one that called ME the cunt :)talk about personal...

Hey man its the truth as I know it at this point in my life. I understand that people can change, however I have a lot of things I need to work through and accomplish. That being said I refuse to drag along some innocent bistander for the ride. I think thats commendable.

This discussion is about planned pregnancies.
sorry but in my experience, most of the pregnancies around me are not planned. i have 3 friends out of 20 that have had children that are actually planned.

1 of those has put her children into daycare after the first year as she and her husband both work. they are both beautiful and well adjusted children.

Girl, 32-35 does not equal old and haggard. The last 4 guys I've dated have been 30-40 (I'm 23 for the record) and only one was loaded. 3/4 are pretty darn attractive. Guys do have a longer shelf-life lol.

Also, I would like to point out to everyone that this is the most mature and articulate we have ever seen ragga_whore in an fnk argument. She gets my props for that.

This goes on the list of why I love being a man between 'standing up while peeing' and 'not having to wear underwear like.. ever.'

I was responding to Courtney's post about wanting to have a child even if it meant she would have to do it as a single parent. That's where the planned pregnancy discussion stemmed from.

I agree that a large percentage of pregnancies are not planned.

I don't think that making set plans about these kinds of things is practical, at least when it comes to children.
I can't exclusively say that I want to have a kid by 30 because I want to be established before I even think about having children. It really depends on school, obtaining a stable career and how my life progresses. That being said, ideally all of that would fall into place in the 30-35 age range. From a biological standpoint I would start to get concerned at about 35 because as a woman you never really know when menopause is going to take place.

With marriage, at this rate I can see it happening in the next several years. My fiance proposed to me in August and I'm really happy with how things have progressed. We haven't set a date but we both decided that it would be within a year of finishing school.
It's strange because I thought of all my friends I would be the last to settle down and follow a totally unconventional route but I really like how things have turned out. There's something really comforting in at least believing that I can have a successful marriage and a great family one day. I think too often we lose sight of anything even remotely traditional because of negative experiences and cynicism.
