in all honesty, I would have preferred the beaten up flames (even if we went 7 with them). our series will come down to defense, and if CHI's young blue line can play like they did in the CGY series, we've got our hands full.

Let's hope the little skirmish between Bieksa and Kesler sparks some motivation for the next series.

Honestly though, I'm digging this match up with Chicago more than if it was The Flames. The Flames seem to headfuck the shit out of us sometimes, and hopefully the inexperience of Chicago starts coming through. Either way, it's a hell of a lot better than playing the Wings.

Aaaaaand with that epic finish to the Carolina New Jersey series, I'm the only person to pick the correct winner in all 8 series. However NJ/Car is the only series I called the right number of games for.

Just reviewing and I noticed that I actually picked Canes in 6. That means that I somehow picked all 8 winners without picking the correct number of games once. By my calculations the chances of that happening are just 1 in 10.

We can play 100 times better than that. I came into this series believing if both teams play at their top level, the Canucks will win. Nothing I saw tonight changes that opinion.

One major thing I noticed yesterday was how kesler and burrows have been playing over the past 2-3 games. It seems that they're now thinking "offense" first, and it's not helping us at all. Rather than skating back and attacking the D and forcing a turnover, they're coasting looking for a break out opp.

I know having Salo out didn't help us at all, but that's still no excuse for what happened last night. We need to keep the energy we had in the first going for the whole game.

I don't mind if Kes and Burrows play offensively as long as they forecheck like motherfuckers. In that case the best defense would be a good offense. Which is not to say they shouldn't backcheck as well when necessary.

Demitra is doubtful for tonight's game, look for Pyatt to suit up.

If we don't win tonight's game (which I think we'll just barely win), I'm proposing a Sedin/Sedin/Sundin top line followed by Kesler/Burrows/xxxx

Canucks thrashed Chicago tonight to take game 3. I thought the first goal that Raymond scored was the best. So savage.

He showed some great finish there, and great vision from Kesler to set up the play. Of course, scoring the first 2 or 3 goals was something we'd already accomplished against these teams. Greasing out the win with strong defense was not.
