Any recommendations as to what to do in SF? We'll be driving back up along the coast and camping along the way - any good places? Good shopping spots?

We're already checking out the zoo and a few art shows while we're down there, along with the Asian Art Museum and such.

Sailing, it's absolutely gorgeous going around the bay.

Go to the lounge at the top of the Marriott downtown, spectacular view of the city from there.

Harbin Hot Springs - So beautiful, the most relaxing/amazing place I have ever been. You can camp there too!

Check out the ferry building (especially if it's Saturday for the market), and go to the Slanted Door and Miette.

Spend a whole day walking & shopping along Haight (not just near Ashbury, it's a looooong street and there's cool stores at the other end too).

Climb the stairs up Telegraph hill, get a great view of the city.

Sea lions at the pier! Obvious first choice.

also the candy store in Russian Hill. YUM!
(hint: buy candy, take down to pier 39, eat candy and watch sea lions play!)

- def. go to the ferry building and eat some good local fare
- wander the mission district for trendy/ hipsterish shops and great food. A lot of ethnic flare too
- the California academy of science is neat, so is a walk through golden gate park
- I agree with stephen_c, use BART and the muni rail systems, they can get you anywhere you need to go

And I recommend looking into Crater Lake as a camp spot, I have never been though I understand it is beautiful.. i'm planning to spend some time there on my way back up to Van : )
