Birthday ideas?

It's my 30th this year (I know, blah!) and I don't want to do the whole 'go to the bar and get drunk' thing, because well, I could do that anytime lol. It's on a Saturday, which is good, but I can't think of anything to do..

I was thinking about paintball, but if the weather continues to suck that wouldn't be great, and I don't know about getting a bunch of people out there on such short notice.

Drinking is fine lol, just not at a bar.. but something different, ya know?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LOL I just read this review of ABC Country Restaurant online:

"...Little pricey though. We spent over $20.00 on ABC Country. But the food was awesome. The banana pancakes was a little too sweet, and the spinach omelette was just awesome...."

I was thinking something more like, playland or paintball or .. something fun like that..

Maybe renting out a hall or something and setting up decks.

Really should have thought about this a week ago..

I recommend Lucy Mae Brown's, rather swanky restaurant and very good food. Also there's always The Eatery, but even if you make a reservation be prepared to wait a little bit. But the music is always good, and the atmosphere can't be beat.

If paintball is being attacked by weather, there's always laser tag. Which I personally think is more fun anyway.

On that note, is there ANY kind of.. sports complex/activity thing thats catered more to adults? I know toronto has a big ass one.

My friend is doing his 30th bday this weekend as well and has it themed for the 1930s. So everyone is going to dress up in that era and we're going to do a photoshoot (no nudes). My friend rented out an ice skating rink one year and we all went ice skating and played ice hockey. Get some friends together for a huge game of dodgeball.

If you like chocolate at all, I'd suggest going to that all-you-can-eat chocolate fondue place on Robson for dessert. I went on my b-day and it was soooo yummy! :)

Lucy Mae Brown's is closed, they lost their liquor license a few months ago.
