Is being geeky attractive (or not)?

being a geek used to be a diss. but some people embrace it, and other people like it. Is there a new type of appeal for the geeky?

Geek can encompass your fashion style and/or interests in video games/board/games/electronics/etc.

Revenge of The Nerds was made in the 80's and it's essentially about how after high school geeks tend to win at everything.

This has always been true. My geekiness hasn't impeded me at all since I learned to just not care.

I have a rule when it comes to significant others in that they should be: computer literate (preferably someone that knows how to use the adobe suite - and not just bad photoshop filters) good at video games (at least willing to try - even better if he can kick my ass at it), like sci-fi, and good looking!

BONUS if he knows how to tap my mana!

I don't know, I don't think any of my ex girlfriends found my nerdism "attractive".

I think it's great if a girl is down with my geekier hobbies, but it's not something I care too much about.

If she accepts my geeky hobbies, great. But in my experience a lot of girls claim they are into geek stuff, because they think it makes them attractive or they just like geeky boys.



For example.

Watching Star Wars is not geeky. Reading the expanded universe is.

Playing board games isn't geeky. Having a Bant Magic the Gathering deck is.

i'm an art/music geek, i'm attracted to people who are similar. geekiness is just enthusiasm for intellectual subjects. intelligence is hot, dumb dumbs are not.

Nah, it was a list of hot nerd chicks. I can pick out about three in there. Might not have been cracked, might have been wired. Was on digg like a billion years ago and I really can't be pained to search for it.

- Guys that write fan fiction
- When they're fat
- When they're sweaty
- When they write 18+ fan fiction with them in it as the main character screwing sci-fi babes
- Anime desktop background image
- They listen to Jpop
- When they're jobless
- When they're fat and sweaty
- Any combination of the above
- When his best friend is some guy they met online whom they have never met in real life but claims they hang out all the time
