i tried vegetarian for a bit

ehh didn't last long...

vegetarian meatloafs are okay, if you convince yourself that it doesn't look like diarrhea with chunks of carrot in it.

but I'll stick to meat

"how would you like your steak sir?" asks the hot waitress.

"preferably still quivering...however i'm sure that that's against SOME sort of law, so just pass it through a warm kitchen." i reply

hot waitress runs off to get my blue rare piece of cow.

I could in all honesty probably give up red meat and poultry(I haven't though), but not seafood...I *heart* seafood.

meat ain't shit. well, actually, it IS shit.

i haven't eaten meat for a long time... i had to make up my own kind of vegan though because regular vegans are stupid. behold, the Ethical Vegan:

eating meat isn't wrong. animals kill and eat each other all the time, however, they do so out of a need for sustenance, not because they're greedy and 'it tastes good'.

to me, raising an animal in a cage, pumping it full of hormones then killing it in a completely brutal manner is ill - not to mention using a metric fuckload of water and grain that could be used more efficiently to feed humans who need it. not to mention the amount of land that's flattened and full of cow shit.

so hey, go for it. animal products are part of our diet, just watch where they're coming from and how they get to you. try http://meatsource.com on for size.

there's such a thing as ovo-lacto-pesca vegetarians. they eat eggs, dairy products, fish and poultry but abstain from red meat. however, I like to refer to them as the pseudovegetarians..... but nevertheless, the term actually exists.

I don't eat meat. I made up my mind when I was 11. why? cuz my parents are lousy cooks. I told them I didn't want to eat their lousy chicken and fish but continued to have big macs and other meats on the side. but after a while, I decided that I didn't want to have carcass being digested in my body and tried to become vegan when I was 14. that didn't work out too well. it's really tough to be a vegan when you're living at home and have a family who doesn't support you.

now, I'm just an ovo-lacto vegetarian who doesn't drink milk. :)

I haven't eaten meat in over 5 years, and I haven't eaten any pig product in over 8 years.

I originally wanted to become a vegetarian when I was 10. It was the "Lisa Simpson scenario"... I watched the movie "Babe" and felt SO guilty. But my parents wouldn't let me stop eating meat, so I just stopped eating anything from a pig. One day when I was 13, I decided, "Screw them! They can't make me eat meat anymore" and that's how it started. I still ate fish for awhile (I'm allergic to shellfish so I never ate that stuff), until one day my Dad took me to the Asian food store and they had fish in the tanks, and this one cod wouldn't stop looking at me...so I started crying and that was the end of my fish-eating days.

I'm technically an ovo-lacto vegetarian, however, I rarely eat eggs or anything that contains them.

Joanne - I call them "wannabes" heh.

oh, and ps

vegetables = life
meat = death (literally)
