its all clubs, my cousin lives in england and he was just here and it was interesting getting his side of the story. first of all he couldnt even believe anyone into the "club" music over here especially me. all the major clubs which most people drool about over here are huge but known for all the "pill poppers" who dress funny. hes not that into them so thats all about it. he went to a fat boy slim party on the beach one time sounded pretty sick.

^I dunno about that, club cultures very mainstream over there. U make it sound as if the average person in england sees clubbers in a similar way as an average person sees a raver here, which definately isnt the case.

^^^ its all relative, they see everything differently over in england, so a raver/clubber isnt seen as a bad person, or as a drug addict which is what i get over here when i say i party... youth over there (that i met) were very open minded to drugs and such, its just more a part of their life, here its kinda taboo...
i dunno thats the way i saw it... |

Their much more into house, techno, trance, dnb, garage ect, or instead of being so hardcore like we split it all up they just refer to it ALL as "dancy music" Ravers and jugleist still kind of have the same reputation there as here, But hip hop ant big at all like it is here in north america (says friend 15yrs in the uk scene) And I can tell you one big shock of mine coming back here from Australia is all the alternative rock played and hered. Not saying you dont here any of that in the uk. However a few years ago it was recorded that more turn tables where sold then gutars. And then theres the way they have a good time and boogie. Aussies are so far #1 in my books and the ppl from the UK also know how to throw there troubls behind get drunk or fuct and make the best of the great music and ppl. Unlike what ive seen in Vancouver so far, hopefully it will all change this saturday when I get a better sence of our scene theise days? Last edited by Ree Fresh; Mar 14, 03 at 12:53 AM. |

Thing is ive talked to meny difrent english ppl about the clubs ect over there, and raely it depends who your tlalking to. A lot of us asume jsut cus there form the great uk that they know the hole scene. Then again ive talked to this one english man who seemed to party all around partying and belives tha London/uk is at least a good 10 years ahead in the club scene compared to the rest of the world. Then again ive seen them still manage to have a brilent time at any place?
But go check it out, meet heeps of ppl and youll find what u want or are looking for. I can tell you the realy great clubs will be dear as... same will go with the drinks. And how do so meny poms get away wtih eating those deep fried brecky's but r still so thin and bone? One mate of mine loved to eat a french fri burger while drinking his beer? |
