France was one of the world's most powerfull nations for hundreds of years. Up until the middle of the twentieth century, France was still one of the most powerfull collonial land holders (along with England, Holland, Belgium etc).

The notion of France as a weakling is completely ludicrous.

They are one of the few Nuclear enabled states, and could most definitely blow our asses out of the water.

Luckily, they are our friends and alies, and are a peace loving nation that would prefer to enjoy their wine and cheese than see their creme de la creme killed in a useless war with Iraq.
