I can't see that this will get passed in Canada because everything is so different up here. Canada is more like Europe in there thinking when it comes to Raves and Electronic Music. Canada is more supportive and understanding........ Stupid Americans try to ruin everything....

What the fuck.. the part that bugs me the most is

"It gives heightened powers and discretion to prosecutors, who may use it to target events they personally don't like - such as hip hop events and gay and lesbian fundraisers."

thats bull shit..... a lot of older aren't to keen with the whole bisexuality thing.... and if they "dont like it" then ya...

thats stupid as fuck.... god america is trying to be this huge politticlly correct role model, when they just need a ass kicking.

bleh poor americans

but then again that would keep drugs more on the downlow. that would definetly lessen the number of dumbasses od'ing at parties and people who chose to take the risk of takin drugs would have to be alot more responsible.

but then again i have mixed feeling about new laws like this. freedom of speech is at stake but hey the parents of kids going to these events are just gonna let the government take no action with all these drugs and all night parties going on.

the shitty thing is that djs get fucked over, promoters get fucked over and loyal ravers get fucked over as well. there are alot of peeps who attend these events for the sole love of the music, but stupid people who only go to abuse alotta drugs ruin it for everyone else.

whats to blame? the scene went mainstream and came to the public eye. not many governemnts around the world are gonna let alotta shit that goes on at raves continue at the rate its been going as of late. the drugs will always be there, the stupid people will always be there... what can you do.

i'd really like to know how the electronic scene became so dominant in European countries.

europeans are open-minded people.
regardless of the whole free-speech thing, they are allowing promoters/owners to be charged if a THIRD PARTY is busted doing drugs. especially in the states the land of the lawsuit. NO ONE WILL THROW PARTIES/EVENTS

this whole thing smacks of infringement on constitutional rights, especially with the promoters being sued for the actions of a third party. i suspect this law wouldn't have a chance in a supreme court case, just wait until a promoter with some money, or one of the civil liberty lobbyist take it to the supreme court.

they'll have to find some other way to shut down raves.

fuck them they can stop it anyway, this whole notion of limiting drug use by targeting raves is flawed.
