stretching your holes!
ok...so now that i've got your attn!
i am seriously considering stretching out my earring holes. only one on either side. my question(s).... 1::: [naively] how do i go about doing so? i mean, should i just go down to my local piercing shop and tell them i want to stretch them out and find out which gages to go to next and what not? 2:::does anyone know of places that have inexpensive stretching costs? i've heard of places that will trade in your previous gage for the next one down and so on until you get to the size that you want? anyone know of any good local places to go? info pls~kthx.. much appreciated!

inexpensive stretching is easy... don't go to a shop. a lot of shops won't do it anyways because in order to run an inexpensive stretching kind of deal, they'd have to reuse jewelry... ick.
go down to an art supply store and buy some sculpy (aka big kid's play-doh). once you're done the fairly simple, yet infinitely creative process of fashioning some sort of earrings out of it just bake it for a little while et voila, you now have a set of earrings to stretch with. the key to it is to make a set of earrings (plugs, claws, whatever you want) for each 2 or 4 guage interval depending on how hardcore you want to be - as well as how willing you are to risk blowouts and such. your ears are prolly 14g right now. bug your friends to lend you some 12g, 10g, and 8g stuff to measure by then go to town. make up a batch of each and start stretching. be prepared for the Burnin' Hotness. it's kinda odd.

Oooooo do it! I jus got my 4 gages done~
I started off doing it myself~ I think I got to a 10 or 8 gage before I went into a piercing shop, but I'd recommend going to maybe 1st or Sacred Heart, they'll most likely stretch it 1-2 gages at a time to start off... I went to Sacred Heart for my 4g tunnels and they say every 4-6 weeks you can come in for a downsizing, and you trade in the jewellery.. it's fun!

go for it. it is worth spending more money on good jewellery that you can trade in for different sizes. but be forwarned. it is addicted. i said i was only going to stretch to 8g. but here i am...2g and yah. the thing that sucks is..to get really nice organic or bone plugs or whatnot..you have to stretch to 0g or even 00g.
most the nice jewellery is hard to find in anything 2g and up. sucks but the nice stuff is worth it. too bad my ears are so little and i dont want to go any bigger. :(

its easy and cheap
go to sacred heart - $50 to get started - you can trade in when you want to upsize and its free i went to 1/2 inches in both ears and i took them out about 3 months ago and they closed no problem. thats prolly way bigger than you wanted to go but whatev - have fun if you take your time and do it right and do it with a reputable place then its a painless (or relatively) process. have fun@@!! bren - im gonna look for a pic of mine
