How Far Is Toooooo Far?

We'll be holding Chills on August 9th and have been hard at work sourcing possible venues. There are a couple that are pretty far and what I want to know is how far is to far to drive for a REALLY good venue? As we all know there are a lot of close(r) venues in the area but these have all been a bit over used and have a slightly higher rick of being shut down. Also as these are over used its just nice to party in a new spot.

SO! What do you guys think?

I say who really cares, within reason anyway and decent access roads are key as well.

^ agreed.

as long as its not a 5 hour drive off-road or something, if it is a REALLY good venue I'd be more than willing to drive (or ride heh) for over an hour if needed.

as long as driving down certain roads isn't the excuse for not going. the road to get to the last one is just too much.

as long as it isn't some cracked out logging road for 40kms or something.

honestly for me, doesn't matter if the line-up's worth it. i'd drive more than 2 hours. big whoop.

It all depends on the productionfor me. If its a small vibey party with small production I would say an hour tops. If its a huge production and big name headliners, I would say 3 - 4 hours away.

there is no 'too far' to go to a party that's gonna go off.

i think the term 'shambala' sums everything up.

Well it's not going to be NEARLY that far but yeah Shambahla is definately worth the drive. Also lets not forget we live in one of the most beatiful places in the world so a bit of a drive can be really nice.

I'll guarentee you all that there's a 0% chance that transit will reach this party. We're talking boonies for this one!

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

I'm always down for a long drive to a party... I mean shit half the fun is getting there!! A couple hours is nothing as far as I'm concerned even for a small production company's party if they put in some effort and I wanna go. The furthur out you're able to do it the loud system you can bring and the more people can go off (hence why we threw Shattered in Squamish and not Foreshore Park or some bullshit like that). When you invest money into something you wanna make it the best you can and get all the bang for your buck so why throw a multi-stage party somewhere you know has a 50/50 chance of being busted?

Shit what happened to driving around for a couple hours... constantly changing info lines... getting lost... only to get to the party a couple hours before it got busted?

Last weekend, i spent 22 hours in transit to & from Soundwave

we were at the party for around 20 hours, at least 5 of which were spent sleeping

it was totally worth it :smoke1:

People that complain about an hour drive are making me laugh.

It is under two hours to go to Seattle for USC.

IMO, it all depends on the lineup.

Fuck ego just throw the party.
