msn 6.0

i hate updating.. and this proves it.
msn 6.0 shuts down on me at least 5 x a day.

does this happen to anyone else?

does anybody have a 5.0 set up file i can mooch?
i wanna take it back to the ol skool.

I had the same issues with the beta, make sure your using the most up to date version.

i was using msn6 when the beta was released and only once did it fuck up, but thats because it conflicted with other software i was running. now im using the public release, and i havent had another problem.

kuz i only got msn 6 like 2weeks ago. i doubt that was beta... it's beeno ut for a while.

go to www.mess.be if you want the old version back, they have it on there somewhere. I used to have problems with it crashing when i was running windows ME, but not now that i have xp.

6 is bloaty mcbloaterson. i've been using linux exclusively for the past two weeks, so don't really have a chance to use it. instead, i've been using gaim ( http://gaim.sf.net ) and i've fallen in love with the program. it's wonderfully small, stable, and easy to use. much more so than trillian was. the only problem is that it doesn't support file transfers yet. but that'll be remedied in future versions.

there's a windows version too, if any of you want an alternative.

^^ trillian's small, stable, and easy to use! maybe you mean in linux, cause then trillian's kinda quirky

if you're using kde, kopete is a nice message program. its basically the equivalent of trillian but for linux, and it supports file transfers unlike gaim (plus it looks better too)

haven't tried it in linux yet. but it was definately quirky in windows. and while it didn't take up as much of my resources as icq and msn used in conjunction, it still always seemed kind of clunky. i also couldn't ever get the interface to my liking.

i anti-<3 kde! i mainly use gnome. i could still run it in gnome, i suppose... but gaim's pretty much exactly what i want.

That said, too many peeps I know use it and not ICQ that its become a necessary evil...and the 6.0 version hasn't caused any harm yet. Now if only it would let me override people's display names, so I wouldn't have to figure out who people who remove their nic from the display name really are...

thanks. i mite give trillian a try.. maybe gaim too..but transfer file option is important
i read abt it before.. said.. there were some options in each of icq/msn/aol that couldn't be used.. but they may've changed it by now.

Just lock someone out of their house and use theur computer.
