maybe you should check in with visa and mastercard (and any other big companies) to see if there are any cards in your name. i'm sure they'll help you if you suspect someone's done this in your name, etc. they were totally good when my dad's card was stolen..

uhh.. if someone has your sin number you should get a new one... they can do a lot more than just register a new credit card under your name

run a credit check on yourself through Equifax Canada and find out what (if anything) you have in the way of credit and talk to them about options about protecting yourself from future fraud.

you have to be 19 before you can have your own credit card, but if you have a co-signer you can have one at a younger age.
