F&K stage @ Apex??
I've been contemplating whether or not to have our very own stage at Apex (thank-you 24K for harvesting the idea). I wasn't booked on any of the stages and it would be a shame for us not to have a small stage for the crew. Here's the hurdle...I need to get in touch with Rich and solidify some space for the stage and our tents/chairs,blankets etc...
Here's what the stage would look like and what it would consist of
Put up your hand if you'd like to see it.. :208: |

aren't you thinking about his a little late,,,,,,,
like a month and a half late ?????? and you know what, there are already 15 stages (put on by promoters who all put in thier money to make this show happen) so i would bet/hope you won't be able to,,,,,, m |

snyx, did you even read my whole post,,,, your the one giving thumbs down to Dayglow 2, a free fucking party to protest the shitty regulations and restrictions of the 604 party scene, Who is paying for this event = the Promoters who forked over $1000 each to throw this party and not get thier money back, What are WE paying for,,,, hmmmmmmmmmm lets see :: Land Security Fliers Tickets Medical Fences Land Preperation etc,,,, Apex 2001, has been in the works since last year, there has been lots of time to "jump on the bandwagon" and do a stage,,,but wanting to do a stage the last minute when all the promoters are RISKING thier hard earned money for the exposure and to do something GOOD for the scene,,,,,is not fair!!! I would love to have not put up my $1000 and be able to waltz in and throw a stage and rip shit up, that would be great, but thats not the way it works @ Apex anymore,,, m,,, |

i hope u guys do it... fuck, if u do, let us know by friday... cuz i mite just head down to the party if u guys get a stage set up... i'm no mixmaster bob or anything tho, but i can show up and support u guys the whole nite...
fuck... even if rich doesn't "allow" u guys to set up a stage, i'd say start up a covert op... wheel in a generator, have a few ppl carry in one of those oversized tents, and some more ppl carrying in the speakers and all ur equipment... and just set up in the middle of the nite, somewhere away from the other stages ... it's gonna be at the same site again this year rite? same as the last couple years...? cabbage patch party? set up just away from where ppl are camping... hehe... or if u wanna be SUPER FUNKED UP, set everything up in the fuckin' bush... muahahahaha... don't use any lights or anything... just send some undercover f&k agents to casually walk thru the camp area, and spread the word to acquaintences and stuff... that would be fuckin' rad... get someone spinnin' jungle in there... *drool*... i'm getting hot flashes... |

~~FYI~~
I spoke with the crew at g-house/spot...
Unfortunately, but reasonably, Trancelates hopes/wishes have come true. There are 15 stages and since this is a showcase of upcoming production companies I imagine jumping on board at the last minute is not fair to all the other investors that have painstakingly earned and/or invested in the planning/continuation of the Apex project. I gladly would have paid whatever amount it took to balance the scales but honestly it’s far too late for that. So I agree with Trancelates argument about fairness. However, I hardly think that a stage, funded by F&K, would threaten other stages nor do I think that I/we would be putting promoters at risk. People go where the music is and if you’re stage isn’t producing good tunes then you can expect your stage to draw nothing but farm insects that will fly around the illuminating light from your visuals. The entire concept of this idea was to help showcase the other very talented dj's on this site and maybe allow them to gain some publicity (hence the reason for asking for other dj’s to spin). It would also have been an excellent meeting spot for all the members. It may have been a nice/excellent thought but due to the circumstances it’s a no-go. Obviously, had we been granted permission, we would have been investing $1000 + on the stage and various costs. Our biggest loss would be not having any recognition on the flyer for our contribution. In addition to that, we risk stepping on the toes of those who oppose late bloomers. On that note I will close the discussions on “F&K stage @ Apex” and wish all of you the very best at Apex. Go out, cheer, dance and support the upcoming dj’s and production companies. I respect the entire concept behind Apex and guarantee we’ll be at Apex in 2002 with our very own F&K stage. Until then we can all relax. ~Form |
