Job Oppertunities Within
K, here is the deal, i work at Western Grocers and we are hiring like crazy...lots of spots need to be filled..part time positions only atm.
The Jist... The job is very labor intensive, physically fit people greatly prefered. Its warehousing..so youll get trained how to use electrical pallet jack dealie thingies.... Starts @ 9.30 p/h Raise Every 250 Hrs (75 cents) Bonus (1500) after 500 hours 2nd Bonus (1000) after 1000 hours 3rd Bonus (500) after 1500 hours The problem is that it has one of the highest turnover rates in BC, its very laborsome as i said, be fit or look elsewhere :toasted: You get unionized after 500 Hrs. You get PAID FOR TRAINING (30 hrs training) You have a 3 month probation period (basically, you wont get fired unless you are a real sloth/steal and get CAUGHT) Paid Every 2 Weeks. Its Call Western Grocers, a big warehouse underneath The Superstore on Marine Drive, transit accessible (100 from 22nd St Station) takes 30 minz to get there (from the station). You get your own locker, etc, so you can bring shit with ya...etc... Any questions? more details? pm me. Im new there too (only worked 160 hrs) but its a FAIRLY easy job once you get into it. NO guarentees of hiring, but they do hold interviews 4 days a week and i see new faces everywhere, so your chances are good.

i werked there only 1 week (training) and dude did that job ever suck da biggest sack in the werld. nasty smelling place, almost lost my foot to some hotshot driving a forklift...like, wtf, and they wonder why it has the highest turnover rate in bc if not canada

I worked there for a week then I went on a K trip where my entire reality turned into a warehouse, and my friends into pallet jacks. I realized I was a bit deeperly programmed by the job than I felt comfortable with. so I quit. damn warehouse.

and believe me I'm not a quitter, but it just wasn' t the place I wanted to be But if you're in need for a job, its not all that bad, its not even hard labor. Slavery yes, hard labour no. Its not a job I'd recomend but if I needed a job really bad I always know I could go there anytime AGROout

And I just read that wrong. I thought it said 'ununionized after 500 hours', which it doesn't. I'm guessing after putting in that 500 hours you could expect a huge jump in pay, and a serious decrease in work....I wish I was part of a union.

Hey, im just trying to be a nice guy here and tell people where to look since people ALWAYS ask for handouts... so plz, i can care less if you dont want a job like this or not, not the greatest job in the world, but then again, its pretty easy and never boring unlike some other jobs i had in the past...
All my other co-workers that work with me smoke as much bud and steal as much as i do, so its a good environment to work in, and once you show them you can reach the 100% plateau, they can care-less if you work below that. Heh, today (sun morning) one of the supervisors was on a hangover...was quite funny :hehe:
