Am I Surrey Trash?

How many of you people from surrey ask yourselves this question?

I find people putting me in a different category as a citizen living in surrey. I shower twice a day, have a nice house, and I don't steal yet I still get dirty looks and hear surrey jokes everytime i mention where i live. My neighbor doesnt sell crack, and 135a street in whalley is very far away from my humble neighborhood yet people are still hesitant to stand outside my house.

Although surrey has its share of crime and crack so does burnaby and vancouver. It almost seems like people are making their assumptions based on the problems taking place in whalley/ The king george area. If thats the case next time i meet someone from yaletown I should mention how disgusting the east end is. it sounds stoopid and I would never say that but for now please dont judge me based on my geographical location.

i like west vancouver personally...

could it be because the next three stops are heading to surrey(Besides new west)?

West vancouver is a great place to be but I hear they like to use alot of water.

its funny even when I was in Calgary and I met people, mostly the guys would be like OHHHHHHHHHHHH WE GOT OURSELVES A SURREY GIRL :284: and then they would try hard for a piece, it was rather amusing.

I find all stereotypes of Surrey and Abbotsford fucking hilarious. Like a person asks me where did u grow up im like in Abbotsford thier like OHHHHHHHHHHHHH WE GOT A FARM GIRL!! Hello fuck wads I grew up in the suburbs sure I had friends that lived on farms but I didnt and NO im not a redneck and NO i do not like country music. its cute but sometimes annoying.

Surrey's just too bloody big, that's the problem. I mean, it stretches from the river to the border! You got an area that could cover three interior towns! And so, with an obviously ill-equiped RCMP for such a large area, of course crime rates are going to go up, allowing stereotypes to settle in due to media exposure of said crimes.

Ah, well. At least us South Surreyites get away with being lumped into White Rock. :kam:

Elguato...I think it's important to consider the people of Surrey that DRIVE instead of take the skytrain/bc transit. Not everyone has that "look" that you speak of...

Matt, you are not Surrey trash...or any kind of trash for that matter. You're pleasant and well presented...and live in a nice neighbourhood. I don't think those characteristics/traits encompass the idea of "Surrey trash"...I think that trash in general are those who hate and make the world a difficult world to live in.

ywet it also has to do alot with poor city planning on the part of the city of surrey, as well as the shear geographic magnitude of the city...also the fact that property values are alot lower there, compared to the rest of the G.V.R.D there is a correlation between poverty and crime rates....you dont find junkies in west van because they can't afford to live there. Rich coke heads maybe, but not straight up "jack yo ride" junkies.

I am from Surrey and I hate it here, the problem is that there isn't really anyplace that you are a safe distance from all the surrey slime. I live on a nice street in a nice house, but you walk less than 2 minutes and you can find hookers and crack houses. And the whole surrey sluts thing, well I hate to say it but it is true. I am definetly not one but it seems to me that MOST of the girls from around here are trash.

or maybe it's just most of the girls you see/take notice to are the trashy ones.

i know plenty of girls from surrey who aren't slutty (i'm not slutty either). there are also plenty of girls from new west, coquitlam, burnaby, vancouver, north van, west van, etc who are just as slutty.

yes there are slutty people here, but there slutty people EVERYWHERE. it's not exclusive to surrey.

and yes some parts are dirty (like whalley) but if you don't live there, who cares right?
