Lighters and lotto tickets: The downfall of our society.

When I go to a bar or a Liquor store, I get carded about 1 out of 10 times. When I buy smokes or cigars, I get carded about 1 out of 20 times. However when I buy lighters and lottery tickets, I get carded about every second time. I guess there is more concern about kids winning the lottery and lighting stuff on fire, than they are about them getting hooked on Tobacco and underage drinking. Priorities?

you prolly look old, or the store you buy from must not care.
its illegal to sell ANY tobaco products to a minor, which doesnt make any sense to me

yeah what is up with that... I dont get ID'd at the liqour stores.. i went there on my 19th birthday and they still havent forgot me..

I probably look old? Dude, I look like a pre-pubescent garden-gnome. And it's not any one store in particular, it's all different places. The reason I brought this up is because I bought 2 bic lighters this week, from 2 different places and I got carded both times. And almost everytime I buy a lottery ticket, I get carded as well.

Oh and for the record MC Hammered, I DO have waaaayyy too much time on my hands. And I've already burned plenty of things down. :kam:

i think that was directed at me, since i'm actually underage. :P

i've never been carded for lighters and well, i don't buy alcohol or lottery tickets (if i want anything, i just get my bf to get it)

i really don't think i look that old though? or maybe i do.. everyone's surprised when they find out my age.

anyways, i'm rambling..

there not suppose to either. I found this out from my friend who gets id'd alot when she buys lighters lol. Not recently though, and as far as matches go its suppose to be the same.

Funny thing is I never got id'd for matches or a lighter until about 2 months ago and I AM 22 NOW!!

I been buying lighters since i was like 10 and I never got id'd now

dude, ive never been ID'es for lighters.. i even bought them when i was 14 with no problem.. its not exactly a tobacco product so i dont see why they would ID? anyhow i have found that i do get ID'ed more when buying lotto tickets and scratch and wins than when i buy alcohol.

Fuck thats the worst. I mean you have weed and you wan to smoke it but then you realize you dont have zig zags. So you stop at the nearest store or gas station and you want to make your visit as short as possible. Just run in ask for them and throw them $1 then leave but then u fucking get carded for some fucking papers. Whats next? getting carded for buying condoms or something
