Van has no good alternative night

so theirs no good alternative night in vancouver it seems, i went to The Purple Onion last night (tuesday) and it was aweful. the DJ... don't get me started, he just plain sucks. the video screens had some pretty stupid shit on it (ie, much music broadcasts from tape, commercials, and later in the night soccer?!?!?

the drinks weren cheap or anything. their even was a cover, i didn't pay, i got vip. but man if i didn't ide be pissed off.

everyone was telling me that its just a sick rehash of the old "love affair" days whatever that means....

Hey i spent i think 35 or 40 to see soulfly and slayer... best fucking concert i've been too... max cavelera sure can belch out a scream, almost perfect to the cd version, and the tribal instruments he incorporated... man it was intense... by the time slayer came on we had just smoked 3 joints, and the mushrooms kicked in just as they powered up this 3d backdrop that looked like a church hallway with neon letters saying "god hates us all" when the vid screen starting firing up with really fast random images of cars getting hit by trains, people on stretches, osama bin laden with a target on his head and other fucked up shit along with a 3d demon made up of lazers started extending out of the stage i relalized, hey maybe doing mushrooms wasen't such a good idea... heh, i turned to my friend and said "i think im going to die", exactly 1 second after i said that, the death metal stops abruptly and the lead singer says "Do you wanna die?", i flipped out, needless to say that was my last mushroom experience..... but 40 bucks well spent on a slayer concert :) :)...

Try rereading what I wrote, just so you know I'm fully aware of how much it costs to put on large scale events, probably more so than most people on this board.

You'll notice here that I was suggesting that $55 is not a "cheap" price. I didn't say that it was to expensive for the product just that it was not cheap. You'll even notice that I said it was a fair price but that it's still to expensive for many people who want to go and have a good time on Halloween.
