The scoop on G-house....96.1fm--#7 Alexander--"SW "loves
Many of you have been asking me what been happening to 96.1fm, #7 Alexander and summerlove. I had a chance to sit down with Rich last night and ask all the questions you have been wondering.
G-spot: The success of g-spot came from the many people in this city that helped keep it alive on a weekly basis. I know from personal experience how vital the show was to local dj's, promoters and upcoming dj's and it's going to be a shame to see it disappear. The hosts of the show, sound techs, assistants, dj's, promoters, callers, ad companies, sponsors and listeners all helped keep the g-spot in business for the 2 + years it's been on air. Unfortunately the monthly operating costs have sky rocketed and this has forced Rich to back away from doing the show. #7 Alexander: The club had been given a sound compressor (installed by the city) that limits the db range to 103db. Pound (the longest running electronica and break beat night in Vancouver) has decided to pull their services from the club leaving Wednesdays vacant for anyone who wants to start a night there. After careful consideration and being approached by Rich, we have decided to take on the night ourselves to keep the night going. The night will now cater to the hard house and break beat community. Once again the night itself does not focus strictly on F&K. In fact i won't be playing every week. I will be contacting many dj's, DECENT MC's (Booey for instance) in this city who will become avid members and resident dj's of the new Wednesday nights. All of the dj's will be in rotation and we will always be looking for new faces to come down and show their stuff. So not only is this a club where locals are respected, it's also a club where upcoming dj's (who are stage ready) can play for a decent crowd. Now if things go well we will start bringing in talent from abroad based on in-bar votes placed by the patrons. The drink specials will be in full effect including $2.50 pints, no cover and specialty shooters at a low price. It's a big step for us but I really hope the response is positive. The survival of this night will rely on the networking of dj's, promoters and the quality of the entertainment. Summer love & Winterlove: It's true that certain annual events can't survive without continued support. Summerlove is one of them. Putting your heart and soul into a yearly event isn't easy especially when considering exactly how much money gets poured into these events. Any honest promoter can vouch that he/she has endured some kind of stress from throwing a party and it's this stress that causes some people to quit the game. Unfortunately Rich might be one of them. I truly hope things go better this year and we can see another Winterlove and another Summerlove. Lex haha I have a feeling that you copied and pasted that message that Sean posted on lounge x. Sad how it's coming to an end.. No more pound =O( I go there every weekend.. The pound crew has been awesome.. I love those guys.. props to you all.. two more weeks left..=O( *sigh*
No more sunday sessions on 96.1 fm too its moved to the fox station..

I'm really disappointed to hear that Pound has been shafted and that 96.1 and possibly Winter/Summerlove may come to an end... :014:
I'm greatful, however, that Rich has considered F&K to take the Wednesday night spot! :Kimmie: I'm really stoked to start something fresh and consistant, and hope the people out there really enjoy it. I hope those of you that can attend will help support F&K and Rich & the G-House crew. Don't worry...we'll keep the walls bumpin' and hopefully have "lots" to entertain you people with *wink wink* Um... you must be 19 and over... just a reminder folks :035:

=O( I'm seriously going to miss it it's not even funny.. F and K here we come? hehehe Lex you dork =O ) Walkin- Sunday Sessions is no more on 96.1 Radio. They have moved to fox but you can still catch Sunday Sessions every Sunday at 7 alexandra with dj's wood, kuma, link etc..

this is so perfect... i'm only working mon, wed, friday now... so i can go to 7 alexander after work on wednesdays, get smashed, and not have to worry about working in the morning... not to mention my BCID should be coming in the mail in the next couple days, so i don't gotta scam my way in or anything like that... hahaha. ...
