What is the next number in this series?

6 12 36 ?

I told him it was 66

6

3 (1+2)

9 (3+6)

12 (6+6)

IQ questions are actually a lot more to do with logical reasoning skills than any particular skill set. For example in this instance the math skills needed were at or below that of an average kid in grade 5.
